Shibari in Grafuk & Available Prints [Dec. 13th, 2006|02:43 pm]

Grafuk is a magazine that specialises in art of an erotic nature. Being a bit naughty, Terratag was asked to submit some artwork.

The artwork featured is Shibari, the Japanese art of rope bondage.

Four silk screen prints on Japanese Sekishu Shi paper are available from Terratag. Produced as an edition of only 50 sets each print is silk screened on to Japanese Sekishu Shi paper. This very fine paper is hand made in Japan using 90% kozu and 10% pulp. Each print is then individually stamped with the Terratag 'hanko' (Japanese seal). Every set is signed and numbered by the artist.

New Terratag Art [Dec. 12th, 2006|11:08 am]

Just in time for Christmas, Terratag releases a huge collection of artwork spanning over 10 years. View 85 pieces of artwork over 5 galleries:

CAMO: In the mix: Samurai Warriors, B-Boys, Russian fighter aircraft, Japanese Tagging and Camo.

ERO: Terratag brings it on with this series of Japanese B-Girl Pop Eroticism.

LICHTENSTEIN: The artwork is a hybrid of Japanese and US comic culture. In particular giant robots from the Japanese TV series Gundam and the 1960's Pop Art of Roy Lichtenstein.

MECHA: In this collection of artwork Terratag pays homage to the mighty GUNDAM.

GUNDAM UKIYO GRAFF: This series of work is an interplay between Japanese, Ukiyo-e painting and Graffiti. Working in aerosol paint, marker pens, paints and a PC, the work is a storm of colour and melee of pattern.

Each artwork is produced as a limited edition print and available in Stretched Canvas, Archival Paper Prints and Wall Hangings.

Make your home a gallery with Terratag art :-)

NEW RELEASES... OUT NOW !!!! [Nov. 20th, 2006|03:11 pm]
NEW RELEASES INC. T-SHIRTS, HOODIES, SWEATERS, G CAPS, MUGS, GIRLS RANGE and MAKE UP BAG... OUT NOW !!!!

Angel Series:

Throw yourself into the world of Cosplay and let Terratag transform you into a rock and roll school girl from the streets of Tokyo.

Your Angel T-shirt comes packaged in a 'Hello Terratag' pencil case. The pencil case being graffiti'd just like the one you once had at school, the artwork a play on everyone's favourite Kitty… Enchanting, but with a wicked twist!

Cosplay: A contraction of the English words"costume" and "play", is a Japanese subculture centred on dressing as characters from manga and anime. However, Cosplay can also simply mean having fun wearing a costume.

School Satchel Make-up Bag:

Designed by Terratag and manufactured in the UK, the School Satchel Make-up Bag is made from heavyweight, digitally printed micro-fibre fabric. The artwork is based on a vintage school satchel that was photographed and, with the aid of computer trickery, been graffiti'd and personalised with stickers.

This durable little bag features a multi-coloured, metallic zip with heart ring pull.

Terratag Series:

There are logo shirts and there are logo shirts... But, we at Terratag wanted to do something different.

The main feature of the Terratag Series is a pattern made up of multiple hand drawn versions of the Terratag 'T' logo, covering the front and back of the garment. Due to the size of this print and the light blue to dark blue blend, each garment had to be printed by hand. If this was not enough, the finishing touch is the Terratag logotype, also hand drawn, in florescent pink.

TERRATAG: Sweat Box and T-Bag

When we ship out the Terratag Hoodie and Sweatshirt it will be in a Sweat Box. The Terratag T-shirt is sent to you in a T-Bag.

TERRATAG Vs LAUGHING MAN:

Designed by Terratag for the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series, The Laughing Man logo is now available on T-shirts and Hooded Sweatshirts. Along with the high quality people have come to expect from Terratag, this exclusive production run features the logo, not as a print, but as a flock transfer.

TERRATAG Vs LAUGHING MAN Sweat Box

The Laughing Man Hoodie is sent to you in an exclusively designed Sweat Box.

Terratag "To shine inorder to be foolish" [Oct. 5th, 2006|12:37 pm]

The translation for Terratag was done on Paul's first trip to Japan by two of his friends. They explained to him that in Japan when a child is born the parents choos teh Kanji (Chinese characters of which around 2000 are used in Japan) to be used for the name given. Each Kanji has a syllabic sound and I was given a selection of kanji for the syllables that make up the word Terratag (Te Ra Ta Gu). Having looked at the various meanings, chose four kanji and ended up with 'To shine inirder to be foolish".

Interestingly enough, Paul was contacted by the guy who runs hanzismatter, a website about the misuse of Kanji, he wrote.

"When I first saw your products, it was sent to me by one of my readers. In Chinese the phrase reads "(it's) foolish to wait (forever)" and the first thing I connected it was the Latin phrase 'Carpe Diem', which means 'Sieze the day'."

So, in all, there are a number of meanings which, more than luck than design is relevant to the brand. It is great that there is this connection with the Latin phrase 'Carpe Diem' which is so relevant to the way Terratag works.

Belts Belts Belts!! [Oct. 5th, 2006|11:20 am]
We have a new accessory for you- the Belt!! The belts are available in beige and black and Terratag's 'T' logo is printed on the metal buckle.

Terratag is printed in one colour along the length as is Terratag's kanji "tera shina dota megu" meaning "to shine, in order to be foolish".

The belts are available to hold your trousers up online from Monday!

For those of you who are interested, at the time these four kanji's were chosen Paul was contacted by the guy who runs www.hanzismatter.com, a website about the misuse of (Chinese) characters, who wrote:

DE FISH Street Art Magazine [Oct. 4th, 2006|11:24 am]
Terratag's featured in the current DE FISH Street Art Magazine Sept-Nov 2006...Paul shows an illustration of a Bombing Ghost Samurai.

"The Ghost Samurai haunts the night streets of Yokohama. His tags are seen all over but rarely do people see the ghost. When they do, people talk of his costume made entirely of tigre stripe camouflage, the source of his nickname with the locals - Tiga San."
